I say again, because I have tried doing this before, but never completed the full 30 days, more like, I didn't finish level 3 (There are three levels). It isn't what I would call HARD, it does cause you to sweat bullets though :P
But I find it really repetitive and boring midway through the program. I want to take it up again though as the results that some people have had are amazing! So I'm sticking to this even if I am bored to the point of pulling my hair LOL I will watch a drama or anime while doing this when I do get to that point then haha
Once I complete the whole 30 days I will definitely review this entire program ^^
Maybe.. just maybe I'll post up photos of progress if I have the courage to :P
For now though, here are
my thoughts of level one:
First things first. I used 5lb weights. Usually you start at 3lbs and work your way up. I didn't know this until later on so when I found out I thought "well no WONDER why it hurt >:C" HAHA but I got used to it quickly, and I like the challenge ^^
It's easy to get your body accustomed to. The last time I used this workout was about a year ago. And before starting this program I haven't exercised for about a month, as mentioned in my previous diet post. So my body ached the next day! But it felt so good x) I remembered this feeling and this pushed me to want to continue!
I know this may differ for some of you though haha
About 3 days of level one, my schedule was so hectic so I couldn't do the shred so I took them as active rest days - not doing a full out workout but still being active by talking walks, going on my stair climber :3 I don't think I want to create "catching up" days for those, rather I'll go straight into level 2 as I have done it in the past and I know my own abilities. Also, since the levels are not stuck to a total of 10 days each, it is up to your own pace.
After the second day of doing level 1, My body didn't feel much pressure from the workout anymore. I think it just may have been the strain on my body after a long while, that caused me to be sore after day 1, but after that, I didn't feel sore from any other day. I still feel that the workouts work, but I'm sure level 2 will be tougher, which is good.
Personally, I think the 30 day shred is a great workout for beginners. I have a friend who just does not like working out, but I get her to do it with me sometimes, I remember when she worked out with me she was able to lose 15lbs! We did other things aside from this though :P
I found level 1 on youtube for you guys if you are interested in trying it out:
30 DAY SHRED - LEVEL 1
Any results?
Along with the 30 day shred though, I have also been jump roping and trying to be more active. Aside from me being more motivated to eat better, I don't think there was much of a difference.
I measured myself so hopefully by the end of this I will have real results to share. I do feel stronger though, which is good! I love being able to do full on push-ups and know that I can beat at least a few guys out there LOL
So This is it for level 1, I'll be starting level 2 today, and once I complete 10 days of it, I'll be sure to write my thoughts on that level as well ^^
If you have tried this as well, let me know how it went!
Having people to motivate you pushes you forward and helps you get off that chair! haha
